Copy National Pokédex Entries from Pokémon Bank to Pokémon Home:

A Complete Guide

Did you know that you can copy your National Pokédex progress from Pokémon Bank to Pokémon Home? Entries you have registered in your Bank Pokédex can be automatically registered in your Home National Pokédex too - even if you don't have those actual Pokémon stored in Bank or Home. The only requirement is a Home account with an active premium subscription. This guide provides step-by-step instructions for how to perform the transfer.

If you do NOT have a working 3DS with Pokémon Bank installed, start at step 4!

  1. Update your in-game Pokédex: Ensure that the desired species and forms have been registered in your game(s) of X/Y, Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire, Sun/Moon, and/or Ultra Sun/Moon.
Some Pokédex entries are automatically unlocked in the Pokédex as soon as you own the relevant species. Other entries require you to use a form in battle at least once. To ensure everything will sync properly, you should use any Pokémon form you want to register in a battle; any wild encounter will do. Remember to save afterwards!
  2. Sync your in-game Pokédex and your Bank account: Bank's Pokédex updates itself using your Pokédex progress in the main series games (not which Pokémon you deposit into Bank). Log in to Bank and deposit any Pokémon. Save and exit.
  3. Look at your Bank Pokédex: Log in to Bank again. Open the Pokédex menu and browse through it. Make sure that you've registered everything you wanted!
Next, open the Adventure Records menu and look at some of your game records. Then save and exit again.
Viewing both the Pokédex AND the Adventure Records is important to ensure that all Bank Pokédex entries will sync to Home. If you skip this step, random entries might fail to transfer! Seems weird, but this is a real issue and solution I've personally tested to confirm.
  4. Sync your Bank Pokédex and your Home account: Log in to Home using either the Switch or mobile app. Select the Move Pokémon From Bank menu option. Transfer any Pokémon from Bank to Home. Your Pokédexes will sync during the transfer.
  5. You're done! Check out your Home National Pokédex after the transfer is finished. Any entries you had unlocked in Bank should now be unlocked in Home too.
